What is it?
“Chiurpi,” as it is called in Nepal, is made by boiling yak and cow milk
with a mild citric-acid additive that separates the curds. The curds are
then packed tightly into sticks and dried for weeks. The result is a
long-lasting chew treat that dogs just can’t seem to get enough of.
In Nepal, the cheese comes from an ancient recipe that is used by the
locals to create a long-lasting snack that they can slowly work in their
mouths while they are working in the fields.

What makes Himalayan Dog Chew so special?
This is a very long lasting dog chew that you can find. Dogs must work
the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before
small parts of it can be slowly scraped off. It is 100% natural with no
preservatives. It is an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of
the Himalayas. When you give this chew to your dog, you know that you
are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.
The story of Himalayan Dog
Chew began five years ago. During a three year service as a Peace Corps
Volunteer in Nepal, the company founders took in an abandoned puppy off
the streets. As the dog was teething and there was no access to the
plethora of products available here in the United States, the need to
improvise with locally available products arose. It was discovered that
a hard, cheese-like product made for and consumed by the Nepali people
was the perfect answer to the problem.
Since then, the folks Himalayan Dog Chew import only the finest quality
product and it has been tested in American laboratories for its content,
including harmful bacteria and potential for bacterial growth over time.
We are satisfied that the product we are offering to the American
consumer is safe and will fill the void for an edible treat that can
keep the attention of even the most powerfully neurotic canine jaws.
TESTIMONIAL:
I just wanted to let you know that I bought two of the smaller Himalayan
Dog Chews, and gave them to the dogs as soon as they arrived in the
mail. Being the proud mommy of a gorgeous 3-year old boxer and an
amazing 2-year old Boston, I'm always on the lookout for a long-lasting
chew. Let me just say that Adie (the Boston) chewed on that thing for
HOURS. She was so engrossed in it, she didn't even notice when I went to
the kitchen to cook dinner (an act that ALWAYS brings her running from
wherever she is, just in case I might drop something). My boxer's a bit
of a wuss, and is paranoid that Adie will eat hers, so she spent most of
the time just watching Adie. It took Adie most of the day, but she
finally finished the chew. I was hoping my $9 might go a little
farther.... Luckily, since Scout didn't really touch hers, I can cut it
in half later and let them enjoy it again. So I just wanted to say that
(while quite pricey), the Himalayan Dog Chews were quite a success! Next
time, I'll try to get a pic of them gnawing them. Adie (the Boston)
spent the whole day laid out on the floor with her back legs kicked out,
gnawing on it all day. So there you go! Thanks so much! These
